Not only is the city of Lansing the capital of Michigan, it is also home to three educational institutions, including the celebrated Michigan State University. Every August, Lansing is abuzz during the two-day JazzFest, which features renowned jazz groups, ethnic food and beer gardens. Shopping enthusiasts appreciate the Lansing Mall, where over 90 shops and services are featured, including a movie theater and numerous restaurants.
