More than 40,000 guests visit Woldumar Nature Center every year. This center has 5 mi (8 km) of trails and 150 acres (61 ha) of woodland, prairie, river-side and pine forest. Visitors have access to hiking and skiing areas.
Located just northeast of Lansing, this year-round recreation site offers fishing, hunting, hiking, horseback riding and picnicking opportunities. Each of the park's three picnic areas features picnic tables, grills, hand water pumps and a shelter.
The Woldumar Nature Center is a non-profit organization that encompasses 188 acres and features five miles of trails. An interpretive center features live creature displays and offers information about the area. Environmental programs and summer camps are also offered at the center.
Located near the Hall of Fame and planted 100 years ago, Cooley Gardens has pavilion park benches, picnic tables as well as a wedding site.
The Fenner Nature Center is an interactive learning center that offers a variety of seasonal programs in order to promote quality outdoor education to Lansing area residents and schools. Self-guided nature trails, a visitor center with exhibits, gift shop and natural history library are located at the Fenner Nature Center. Various events are also held at the center throughout the year, including the Maple Syrup Festival.
Hawk Island Park has a beach and swimming area, fishing and boat rentals. Picnic grounds and shelters are available. Visitors enjoy boardwalks, sand volleyball courts and horseshoe pits. This park provides facilities for winter activities such as sledding and cross country skiing.
Designed as a festival park, Adado Riverfront Park has an open space for touring and walking. This park is surrounded by the Grand River, Michigan's longest river.
Located in Ranney Park, Ranney Skate park includes a 20,000-square-foot recreational facility designed and built for skating and rollerblading.
Fenner Nature Center has 4 mi (6 km) of nature trails, a herb garden and a visitor center building with reptiles, amphibians and native birds.
